I want to go to space…
The future of space tourism is looking bright with many private companies investing in space travel technology. It is expected that space tourism will become more accessible in the next decade as technology improves and costs decrease. Some companies are already offering suborbital flights, with Virgin Galactic being a frontrunner in the industry. However, it is likely that SpaceX and Blue Origin will be the first to offer orbital space tourism. The cost of a trip to space is currently extremely high, with Virgin Galactic charging $250,000 per ticket, but it is expected to decrease as more companies enter the market and competition drives down prices. It is estimated that the cost of a suborbital flight could be around $50,000 within the next 10 years, while an orbital flight could cost anywhere from $250,000 to $1 million.
Game viewing in South Africa…
Hluhluwe game reserve
I am always at my most relaxed when game watching in Hluhluwe – KwaZulu. Out in the bush one can see for hundreds of kilometres unhindered by the imposition of buildings or any other human presence. The ‘big five’ – lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo and leopard – inhabit this small patch of Eden and I love the experience of a ‘night drive’ where one can often see a kill. My family have been visiting this reserve for generations and it is therefore close to my heart.
